Cookie Policy
1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how DesignVerse S.R.L. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit deisgnverse.com or use the DesignVerse platform. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes our broader data-processing practices. The Company is established in Romania and operates under the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC as amended by 2009/136/EC) and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They allow the site to recognise your device on subsequent visits, store your preferences, and measure how the site is used. We also use related technologies including local storage (browser-side key-value storage for session and consent state) and server-side access logs for security purposes.
3. Our Approach: Prior Consent Required
In line with the ePrivacy Directive as applied in Romanian law (Law No. 506/2004 on the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector), we operate a prior-consent model. This means:
- Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically, as they are required for the Service to function.
- All non-essential cookies (analytics and preferences) are held until you actively give consent through our cookie banner. No analytics code fires, no preference cookies are written, until you click "Accept all".
- You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer, which reopens the consent banner and clears any prior decision.
- Browser-transmitted opt-out signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), are honoured for analytics categories. When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we treat it as equivalent to refusing non-essential cookies.
4. Categories of Cookies We Use
| Category | Examples | Lifetime | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Session token, CSRF token, cookie-consent record (localStorage) | Session to 12 months | Legitimate interest / contract performance (no consent required) |
| Preferences | UI theme selection, language | Up to 12 months | Consent |
| Analytics | Self-hosted anonymised usage analytics; feature interaction events; component generation counts | Up to 13 months | Consent |
| Marketing | Not currently used | Not applicable | Consent (if introduced) |
5. Third-Party Cookies
Where we use third-party service providers for analytics, those providers may place cookies or use local storage. We select providers that support data-processing agreements under Article 28 GDPR and we enable their data collection only after you have given consent. We use self-hosted or privacy-first analytics where possible to minimise third-party data sharing.
6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
- Cookie banner: use the banner that appears on your first visit to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can re-open it at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer.
- Browser settings: most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. Instructions for common browsers are available at aboutcookies.org. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of the DesignVerse platform.
- Opt-out signals: the Global Privacy Control (GPC) header or browser setting, if active, is treated as a refusal of non-essential cookies. We check for this signal on each page load before setting any consent-dependent cookie.
- Contact: you may also email [email protected] to request that we clear any preference or analytics data associated with your account.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce new cookie categories or change the vendors we use, we will update this policy and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Where the change requires fresh consent under the ePrivacy rules, we will clear any existing consent record so that the banner is shown again on your next visit.
